Cultivating Energy: New Opportunities for Agricultural Entrepreneurs in 2024

The upcoming year looks set to be a decisive period for the Italian agricultural sector, with many opportunities for agricultural entrepreneurs. The significant increase in funding from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), from €3.68 billion to €6.53 billion, along with an additional €1.2 billion allocated to the agricultural sector from the National Complementary Plan, positions agriculture as the largest allocation of resources ever directed to the sector.

In this context, the CIESSE team is actively involved in delivering turnkey projects to support agricultural businesses in the implementation of agrivoltaic systems. This commitment is shared with SolarEdge, Open Consulting, and Banca Intesa, which extend their efforts to provide detailed information from a technical, financial, and economic perspective.

Informational Meetings at Ciesse Headquarters: Opportunities for Agricultural Entrepreneurs

To provide all the necessary information on the upcoming call for projects and illustrate the opportunities in agrivoltaics, two meetings will be held at CIESSE’s headquarters in Cda Costa Mendola, 96011 Augusta (SR) on January 12th and 26th, 2024. These meetings represent an opportunity to acquire valuable details on upcoming initiatives and fully leverage the resources available.

Incentives for Agrivoltaic Systems

Agrivoltaic systems will be supported through a combination of capital grants and incentive tariffs. A capital contribution of 40% of the eligible costs will be granted. At the same time, an incentivizing tariff will be applied for the net electricity produced and fed into the grid, with a validity period of 20 years.

These incentives aim not only to promote the transition to more sustainable energy but also to provide significant financial support to agricultural businesses that embrace this evolution. The year 2024 presents a unique opportunity for Italian agricultural entrepreneurs. Let’s cultivate energy together, paving the way for a more sustainable and energy-efficient agricultural future.
